About Harold Park
Playground at Harold Park
Harold Park has a custom-built playground with slides, swings, a timber climbing stack, sand play, balancing beams and teepee-style cubby houses for imaginative play. Its huge slide sits inside a space-ship structure with a ropes course that leads up to it. A huge rock wall is beside the playground. The play area has limited shade, and its metal slides can get hot on a sunny day.
Shaded BBQs and Picnic Tables at Harold Park
Harold Park has shaded barbecues with tables, and undercover seating sits around the barbecue area. Seating is also placed around the playground, so adults can stay close to children while they play. The park's picnic areas sit among open grass spaces, which are intended for recreation and community use. Group picnics can use the open grass next to the barbecue tables, and undercover seating keeps meals out of the sun.
Walking and Cycling Paths at Harold Park
Harold Park has cycling and walking paths through its 3.8 hectares, linking Forest Lodge streets to the harbour foreshore parklands. A wildlife corridor and tree canopies run through the park alongside the paths. A Tramshed Garden of native plants sits inside the park, along with a three-metre edible garden in Artisan Lane. The cycling paths are unshaded.
