A fence was built around the trial area in the third week of September 2025, following community feedback about public safety. Everywhere else in Campbell Park, dogs must be on-lead. Dogs must stay at least 10m away from the playground at all times. The trial opened on 4 August 2025, and its feedback period closed on 7 May 2026. Council's trial results will feed into its Dog Recreation Strategy, with a draft expected on public exhibition in 2026.

Playground at Campbell Park

Campbell Park has a playground for young children, fitted with a climbing frame, an embankment slide and a basket swing. The climbing frame gives children a structured place to climb and build balance. The embankment slide runs down the park's slope, giving kids a different kind of challenge from flat ground. The basket swing adds a third option for children to swing. Together, these three play pieces make the playground a central place for families with young children visiting Campbell Park.

Blue Gum High Forest Bushland at Campbell Park

Campbell Park covers 5,101mยฒ and is described as an open forest parkland. The park contains remnant Blue Gum High Forest vegetation, giving the site a bushland character within the Chatswood suburb. Campbell Park also helps manage drainage in the headwater of Swaines Creek, so the park serves a functional environmental role as well as a recreational one. Campbell Park therefore combines a natural forest setting with a managed drainage function, making it a green space with both ecological and community value.
