About Bales Park

Choo-Choo Train Playground at Bales Park

Bales Park has a fully fenced playground built around a Proludic choo-choo train, which is the play space's best-known highlight. The train has a locomotive with a talking tube and two carriages with little tables inside. Bales Park's playground also has a dual embankment slide, swings including one operated with arm movements alone, a spinner, a climbing frame with monkey bars, a climbing net, a car springer, a trike track and a sandpit with a sand play table. Large, mature trees shade the play space, and the equipment is suited to children from age one upward.

Off-Leash Dog Area at Bales Park

Bales Park has an off-leash area on its lower oval, open to dogs on weekdays before 9am and after 4pm. Dogs are not permitted off-leash at Bales Park at any time on weekends. Owners must bring their own poo bags for their dogs. The lower oval has no lighting for off-leash use, so the area is only suitable for daytime visits and early mornings.
