About Anthony Skarratt Reserve

Sports Fields and Courts at Anthony Skarratt Reserve

Anthony Skarratt Reserve has four football fields and two baseball fields in its full master plan, a plan adopted on 25 May 2021. Six multi-purpose courts sit alongside these grounds for ball games. Cricket is catered for at the reserve with two synthetic cricket pitches and cricket practice nets. After community consultation, a baseball batting practice tunnel was added to the Anthony Skarratt Reserve design, giving baseball players a dedicated training space.

Youth Playground and Playgroup Area at Anthony Skarratt Reserve

Anthony Skarratt Reserve includes a youth playground and plaza as part of its first construction stage, giving older children their own play space. A separate playgroup area with an outdoor play area is planned for younger children at the reserve. A playground also appears in the full master plan for Anthony Skarratt Reserve, so play areas are part of the reserve's long-term design rather than a single stage.

Community Centre at Anthony Skarratt Reserve

Anthony Skarratt Reserve's stage one includes a single-storey community centre with a satellite library, activity rooms and a function room under one roof. The Box Hill Nelson Progress Association is to have a permanent space within the centre. Together, the community centre and its library give Anthony Skarratt Reserve indoor community space alongside its outdoor sport and play areas.
