About Dyuralya Square
Garden Rooms and Lawn Terrace at Dyuralya Square
Dyuralya Square has a series of garden rooms for relaxation and socialisation, arranged to mirror the former landscape terraces on the site. The square has a lawn terrace, and smaller intimate spaces offer a place to reflect away from urban noise. Trees, hedges and level changes give shelter and privacy across the square. A consistent materials palette ties the open and closed spaces together, and the square hosts small events, markets and swap-meets.
Water Sculpture and Paving at Dyuralya Square
Dyuralya Square has a water sculpture that marks the original swamp line that crossed the lower half of the site. Former factory layouts appear as inlays in the paving, which also guide the placement of furniture and tree pits. Roger Jasprizza and Will Whitfeld led the design team for the square. The water sculpture and paving together show the site's wetland and factory history to visitors walking through the square.
