About Shale Hills Dog Park

Off-Leash Dog Areas at Shale Hills Dog Park

Shale Hills Dog Park has two separate off-leash areas, and both are fully fenced with double-gated entries. The main park covers five hectares of purpose-built ground for large dogs. A separate enclosure serves small, shy or older dogs, so they have their own space away from big dogs. Water fountains for dogs and people are available, and poo bags are supplied. Owners must bin their dogs' waste. A shaded terrace with bench seating under umbrellas sits beside the areas for owners who want to rest.

Agility Course and Training Circuit at Shale Hills Dog Park

Tunnels, balance beams, rest boxes and weave poles make up the agility course in the main park. Ten self-guided activity stations teach sit, stay, controlled walking and recall. Open hills let owners throw a ball for fetch at a distance. A sensory garden planted with dog-safe herbs, including lavender, thyme, chamomile and mint, gives dogs a calmer area to explore.
