About Buruwang Park
Playground for Ages 7 to 12 at Buruwang Park
Buruwang Park has a playground built for children aged 7 to 12, with new play structures that include more challenging elements than a typical younger-children area. A swing was added when the upgrade was completed, and the upgraded playground is now open. The play surface is new softfall, a coloured porous rubber. Buruwang Park has no fence around the play area, because the existing sandstone retaining wall between the playground and Newington Boulevard creates an effective barrier. The City of Parramatta describes the upgrade as finished and the playground in use.
Shade and Seating at Buruwang Park
Buruwang Park has additional shade trees planted as part of its playground upgrade, and no shade sails were added because the council considers there is plenty of natural shade. Buruwang Park has two new bench seats, an upgraded bin and a new bubbler. Four small Melaleuca trees were removed to make room for the swing, and they are to be replaced elsewhere in the park. New pathways and a new park sign finish the works at Buruwang Park.
