About Central Park
Inclusive Playground at Central Park
Central Park has an upgraded playground built as an inclusive, accessible play space, and an opening event for it was held on Saturday 11 October 2025. The playground design includes swings, a combination play unit with slides, and a climbing net for older children. Younger children have a cubby house and toddler play items. Rubber softfall and new concrete paths give access to and around the play area, and a scooter and trike circuit path adds a riding route. A new fence separates the playground from Wellbank Street.
Shaded Grass and Picnic Lawns at Central Park
Central Park has open grass areas under mature shade trees, which makes the lawns suited to picnics. The upgrade keeps the existing shade trees and grass areas around the playground. New sandstone blocks and additional seating give visitors more places to sit and gather. Central Park also has an upgraded bubbler for drinking water and a scout hall on Wellbank Street.
